Comedy in the Gospel of John

Chipping Campden Parish Rooms

9.30-4.30 WEDNESDAY 16 AUGUST

9.30-4.30 SATURDAY 19 AUGUST

Are you a Christian? Do you have a sense of humour?

Do you enjoy theatre or even acting?

A limited number of spaces are available for a day of exploring the Gospel of John, looking specifically at the comedy (yes, comedy) that John has written in or left space for. The day will start with an introduction to some theological background to the study of the Gospel that encourages their performance in a humorous way. We’ll continue by reading the texts as scripts to see what how they lend themselves to comedy and we’ll finish by acting out some of the scenes. No theological expertise is necessary. The day will be led by Rev Sheila Rosenthal, an experienced teacher and preacher on the comedy of the Gospels.

Numbers are strictly limited to 20. The cost of the day is £15.00 (£8.00 for full time students, proof of study required or those who are retired.) Application to join the day is by completed form available from rev.s.rosenthal@gmail.com and will be allocated on a first come first served basis. Participants must be over 18. Study/performance materials and light refreshments, but NOT lunch, will be provided.

The day will take place at the

Parish Rooms in Chipping Campden; 9:30- 4:30 WEDNESDAY  16th AUGUST

AND WILL BE REPEATED ON

SATURDAY 19TH AUGUST

Details from Sheila Rosenthal, 01386 700530 or  rev.s.rosenthal@gmail.com.
