About Us

We are a group of diverse people of different ages, backgrounds and experiences from Chipping Campden and the surrounding area learning together about the transforming love of Jesus. In our daily lives Sunday through Saturday we live out our faith in the places we go and in things we do. Through serving others and the community we want to make Jesus’s love known.

We are privileged to meet in a magnificent building that was built for the glory of God and has through the centuries been a place of Christian worship. The stones are soaked in the prayers of the ages.

Please get in touch to find out more or come and join us and see what we are up to and what is going on.  Please take a look at our ministries including:

History

St James is one of the finest wool churches in the country. Much of the current building dates from the 13th and 14th centuries. In addition to the building there are a number of interesting memorial and artefacts. As custodians of this rich heritage we welcome visitors.

The church is usually open between 10am and 4pm in the summer and 11.00am to 3pm from the end of October. Except Sundays when the church opens at 12.15pm.

To avoid disappointment please do check opening times. The leaders of organised tours are encouraged to contact the administrator in advance of visiting.

Please visit our dedicated pages to the history of St James Church here.
